The East African Community (EAC)

A formal cooperation agreement between MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation and the East African Community Secretariat prioritises joint youth engagement and empowerment through the YouLead Program and East African Youth Ambassadors Platform (EACYAP). The MoU mandates MS TCDC to be the lead implementing entity for identified EAC youth priorities. Among others, current priority areas are building the capacity and ensuring active participation of the EAC Youth Ambassadors Platform members in EAC integration agenda at country and regional levels. The wider youth engagement priorities are amplifying youth voice, inclusion, participation, sustainable livelihoods, empowerment, education and skills development, as well as youth led participatory action research and social dialogues on governance, sustainable development, conflict prevention, peace building. Our joint work covers all 6 Partner States of the EAC, Tanzania among them. Since 2020, with a joint youth program team and joint annual work plan, YouLead and EAC Youth Ambassadors Platform (EACYAP) deliver EAC’s youth engagement results in the spirit of “Delivering as One” at national and regional levels. The cooperation agreement covers youth participation in political processes, in accordance with EAC frameworks.

MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation

Situated in Arusha Tanzania, MS TCDC is a Training Centre for Development Cooperation is home of YouLead and jointly hosts the YouLead Secretariat through a Cooperation Agreement with the East African Community.

The East African Community Youth Ambassadors Platform

EAC Youth Ambassadors Platform (EACYAP) is a youth engagement initiative of the East African Community (EAC) under the Political Affairs Department within the framework of the Nyerere Centre for Peace Research.

The Platform’s mandate is fostering youth participation in national and regional governance and EAC integration processes.

The platform will be making 10 years of existance since it's initiation in 2012

East African Business Council

The East African Business Council (EABC) is the regional apex body of the private sector in the East African Community region with a single purpose of driving a people centered, private sector driven East African Community integration process by advocating for removal of non-tariff barriers to trade and investment in the EAC region.

MSTCDC/YouLead has a formal cooperation -agreement with EABC to work together to promote an enabling policy environment for youth led enterprises as well as building the capacity of youth and their businesses so that they are able to take advantage of opportunities offered by such good doing business environment especially for cross border trade under EAC Common Market Protocol and the AfCFTA.

Following the official launch of trading under the AfCFTA on January 1, 2021, the role of young people in successful implementation AfCFTA
agreement cannot be over-emphasized.
On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through
the GIZ-AGA (African Governance Architecture) through the Strengthening Good Governance and Human Rights in Africa Program is supporting the AfCFTA Youth Inclusion Accelerator Project.

The project is being implemented by the Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS TCDC) through the YouLead Africa and the East African Community (EAC) through the EAC Youth Ambassadors Platform, in collaboration with a collective of 5 Continental Collaborating Entities - youth led and youth serving organizations (one per each African region)

Among others, the continental study on the status of youth participation in AfCFTA and the Continental Boot Camp for young business leaders and policy makers conducted in 2021 are among the many successfully implemented activities as part of this partnership.
