2017
Inauguration
YouLead launches in Arusha as a Pan-African platform for young leaders. A small founding team sets out to answer one question: what would it mean to put youth voices at the center of Africa's most consequential conversations about peace, justice and prosperity?
YouLead evolves from a single annual forum into a year-round, structured leadership program. Dialogues, fellowships and capacity-building tracks emerge alongside the flagship Summit, deepening the work between editions.

From an Event to a Program

Going Continental
Scaled beyond East Africa with delegates from 30+ countries. The Summit grows into a continental convening, Pan-African in scope, with stakeholders, partners and young leaders representing every region of the continent.
A continental movement shaping the next generation of African leaders. From the Summit to Africa Unplugged to the EAC Youth Fellowship, YouLead now operates as a year-round program ecosystem with reach into AU and UN policy spaces.
