Dates & Venue

Plan your arrival and departure around the official Summit week. All sessions take place at one main venue in the USA River area, just outside Arusha.

Summit Dates

YouLead Summit 2026 will take place from 25 – 29 May 2026.

  • Arrival: Sunday, 24 May 2026
  • Departure: Saturday, 30 May 2026

Summit Venue

The Summit will be hosted at the MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS TCDC), located in USA River, Arusha.

  • All plenaries, workshops, and side events take place on the MS TCDC compound.
  • USA River sits between Arusha city and Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Before You Travel

Travel Documents

Make sure all four items below are sorted before you fly. Delays at the port of entry usually trace back to one of these.

Valid Passport

Carry a passport that is valid for the duration of your stay. Check expiry well in advance.

Yellow Fever Certificate

A valid Yellow Fever certificate is required for entry into Tanzania. If you don't have one, you will be required to take the injection at the port of entry.

Confirmation Email

Present your YouLead confirmation email at the port of entry. Keep both a digital and printed copy on hand.

Visa Confirmation

  • Outside EAC: apply online at visa.immigration.go.tz. Visa cost is $50, payable online or in cash upon arrival.
  • Participants from EAC member states such as Somalia will also require a visa.

On the Ground

On-Site Essentials

What YouLead covers, what you are responsible for, and what to expect once you arrive in Arusha.

Transport

All non-sponsored delegates are responsible for their own travel to Arusha. YouLead will organize buses with pick-up points at the recommended hotels.

Weather

Daytime temperatures in Arusha range from 21°C to 31°C, with sunshine and occasional rainfall. Pack for warm days and cooler, possibly wet, evenings.

Meals

YouLead provides lunch and tea breaks as scheduled in the programme. Light refreshments may be offered around evening sessions. Note: no Per Diems are provided to young leaders.

Stationery & Internet

Participants receive a welcome package with a notebook, pens, and a T-shirt. Internet connection is available across all locations within the MS TCDC compound.

Health & Allergies

Inform the designated contact persons in advance of any allergies. If you are on medication, travel with an adequate supply for the duration of your stay.

Currency & Tipping

Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) is the local currency. ATMs are widely available in Arusha town. Tipping is appreciated in restaurants and tourism services (typically 10%).
